AAHA accreditation helps hospital owners meet the goal of excellent patient care. Since 1933.AAHA's volunteer leaders have developed specific written standards for small animal hospital facilities and services in 12 areas. Member hospitals receive a copy of these standards. Trained AAHA practice consultants have toured each applying hospital to review the standards and give guidance for successfully meeting them. Because they're familiar with the operation of hundreds of veterinary hospitals, AAHA practice consultants can also offer insights about quality care, efficiency, work flow, OSHA, client relations, and staff communications.
AAHA-accredited hospitals can have as many as four categories of members on staff under hospital membership:
- Hospital directors (practice owners who are veterinarians)
- Hospital associates (associate veterinarians on staff)
- Management associates (practice managers or administrators)
- Veterinary technical support teams (technicians and assistants)
Accredited hospital members use the AAHA logo on any hospital communication to signify their commitment to the highest level of excellence. As a client. when you see the AAHA logo on stationery, brochures, newsletters, uniforms, and signs, you will recognize that committment to high quality pet care.
