What services are offered?

Creekwood Veterinary Hospital is a full-service Pet hospital. We offer a wide range of animal health care service including well pet exams, sickness evaluations, diagnosis and therapeutic medicine. Conventional and laser surgery is also a part of our total pet care service. Your pet may also receive the benefit of routine dental treatments and prevention of dental disease.

Do I need an appointment for my pet?

To avoid excessive waiting times we prefer our clients to call for an appointment to see a doctor. Patients with appointments are always given priority over walk-ins. Exceptions are made to accommodate life-threatening situations. Such situations always receive first priority. Scheduling an appointment is as simple as a brief telephone call.

What if my pet needs care outside of office hours?

We frequently refer emergencies outside office hours to one of two nearby emergency facilities. Both of these facilities are well equipped and well staffed to provide closely monitored after-hours care. Pets will be transferred to our facility as needed for continuing care and follow-up

Will I participate in decisions concerning my pet's health?

We recognize the need to keep every owner apprised of the choices available for their pet's care. We make every effort to estimate treatment time, stress and costs. However, unforeseen circumstances sometimes require instigation of emergency therapeutic measures. In such rare instances, we make every reasonable effort to contact you the pet owner. Failing that, changes in treatment protocols are limited to "best choice for best outcome" scenarios.

Is grooming offered?

Our grooming service is limited to procedures necessary to good pet health and hygiene. Baths, limited brush-outs, and combing are offered. We also offer grooming procedures for external parasite control. To explore what options are offered please telephone our office at [281] 482-1594.

What is the difference between conventional and laser surgery?

Conventional surgery involves using a scalpel for cutting and standard ligation techniques to control bleeding. Carbon Dioxide laser surgery is an advancement that controls hemorrhage while tissue is being incised. Both techniques are appropriate in given circumstances. Creekwood Veterinary Hospital is one of the limited number of facilities nationwide which has proper instrumentation for both types of surgical procedure. Our doctors will recommend the best technique for each individual patient based on a variety of considerations.

Should I be concerned when my pet requires anesthesia?

While it is natural to be concerned, moderate risks of general anesthesia are minimized by proper anesthetic agents, delivery systems, and careful patient monitoring. Given the nature of our patients, many routine procedures must be performed under general anesthesia. Creekwood Veterinary Hospital safely performs hundreds of anesthetic procedures each year. Your pet's doctor will outline risks prior to any contemplated procedure.

May I leave my pet for boarding while I'm out of town?

We do offer limited boarding for our clients on a "first come first served" basis as space allows. We must allocate sufficient space to provide for animals that are ill. In no case, are animals left for boarding care housed with animals that are diseased.

What kind of pet products do you dispense?

Dispensed items are those limited to health care. Such items include flea and tick control products, shampoos, heartworm preventives, nutritional supplements and high quality diets. We also offer therapeutic prescription diets for control of disease.

How are your fees established?

As with other professionals, our fees are based on a number of factors including time and expertise involved, assistance, special training, special equipment or instrumentation needed, or special supplies need.

What are your payment policies?

It is customary to pay professional fees at the time of service. For our clients convenience we do accept personal checks and major credit cards.
