Carbon dioxide surgical lasers cut and vaporize tissue without physical contact. The laser(light) beam is so precise it hardly affects surrounding tissue. Since there is no tearing, bruising, and only minimal inflammatory damage, there is much less surgical bleeding and even less post-operative healing pain.
In order to continue providing state-of-the-art animal health care, Creekwood Veterinary Hospital now provides laser surgical capabilities. Certain types of procedures are better performed using CO2 lasers, including cat declawing, anal gland removal, some types of tumor removal, and many oral treatments.
Please feel free to call for a consultation on the relevancy of laser techniques in any surgical treatment for your pet. We do accept referrals from other veterinarians.
